Laptops are enrolled in Filewave using the computer's "name". To find the name of the laptop, click on the Apple logo at the top left of the screen, then select System Preferences. Next, open the “Sharing” folder. The “Computer Name” is displayed here. (The name is actually shown twice here - once in the "Computer Name" field, and then once beneath it. The one beneath it should have the same name, but with .local following the name)
If you are a DRA or DRS, you can rename it yourself. If you are not a DRA or DRS, open a support ticket (SchoolDude) and report the problems that a technician can help to rename it properly. If the computer is named correctly and Filewave is still not working, be patient. Do not restart the computer to attempt to speed it up. This actually slows down the process. If the computer is named correctly but Filewave icon is still not showing, we can take care of that as well. (Technician will manually install Filewave client - apps.bcbe.org) After installing client, it may take a day or so before the icon appears. If it still does not show after that, email Curt Smith (rcsmith@bcbe.org) with the name of the computer. (The computer might be registered in Filewave with a different than expected name)
