At the login page, both a student's @ibaldwin.org account and his personal @gmail.com account show.
Although the URL for logging out of gmail is blocked (on the Chromebook, in the browser), we have seen cases where the student was able to log out of their @ibaldwin.org account and log into their personal @gmail.com account. This seems to be a quirk, where the filter occasionally fails to block the logout. In this case the student can be very frustrated, as the filtering will then start working again and he can no longer log out of his @gmail.com account in order to do his work in the @ibaldwin.org account.
To correct this, sign the student out of the Chromebook and restart the power. When it powers on, remove the personal account from the login screen and log in using the @ibaldwin.org account.
Can a student use a Chromebook to check personal gmail account by logging out of their ibaldwin.org account in the Chrome browser, and then logging in with their gmail.com account?
Students should not be able to do this as we actively block the URL needed to log out of the browser. However, in a rare circumstance a student may be able to do this. If this happens, a student will have trouble logging back out of their personal gmail account and back into the ibaldwin.org account.
To correct this, simply have the student reboot the laptop. Have them log back in using their ibaldwin.org account and all should be fine.
Make sure the computer has the driver. Also, make sure that under the tray, there is a cord looks like a phone cord – that has to be connected behind the smart board and under the tray. Make sure that you’ve tried different cables also so one cable isn’t the issue.
